The largest and most technologically advanced economy the world has ever seen, continues to score touch downs.
I love the way America is spread out, relaxed, thoughtful, diverse, sensible, thrifty, common sensical, and has a thorough grasp of food hygiene concepts.
Because America is the birthplace of one Dr. Wassell, a famous tropical parasitology researcher who identified various nasty creepy crawlies that used to plague our food supplies.
The good Dr. carefully did his research, and was able to advice on one or 2 aspects of food hygiene and handling practices.
These lessons and others learned, and applied, add up to America being probably the safest place in the world to eat.
So there you have it - a safe place to eat.
Not neccesarily the fanciest, for that is not what America is, but American food is the safest.
Clear thinking is the order and the special of the day in America.
There's a decent and well-known buffet place near where I live. It's always popular, which is good in that the food turnover is rapid, and bad in that you go there to eat, not to have conversations.
To be honest, I'm growing increasingly cold to the concept. I'm happy to go to a quiet place, pick one cohesive meal, and enjoy it with minimal contact with other people.
Almost sounds like there is a need for a different kind of buffet, maybe one which has portions sealed in plastic containers, to afford a longer shelf life, which maybe would allow for a slower turnover rate, which would allow for fewer...
