  • aaaaaaaah, thanks for bringing this up. There is a world of difference between what people think Italians eat, and what we they actually eat. Fettuccine Alfredo is a prime example, no one eats it and if you ever travel to Italy, you'll be hard pressed to find it, especially if you're not in a tourist hot-spot. Pesto is only truly popular in one or two regions (of 20) in Italy. Mac & cheese as you know it isn't Italian and Spaghetti Bolognese doesn't actually exist either because it has a different name, consistency and recipe. When all is said and done, there's no such thing as "Italian" food because each region has its own traditions, culture and products and they can be very different from one another. 🙇😌🇮🇹

  • Amen! I can't eat olive garden. When I started making alot of my own pasta and sauces made me realize how crappy their food was. It's even hard to enjoy it even if its free.

  • You’ve captured the gist of my articles

  • Not hysterical at all. I’m no fan of any of the Darden food troughs. Most Americans don’t have a solid grasp of Italian, Mexican and Chinese food. And our portions are beyond ridiculous. It’s sad really, people go to these places because they’re safe and/or lack of better options. Or in the case of Darden, just throw more cheese and salt on it.

  • I enjoy Olive garden for what it is, but I wouldn't qualify it as real Italian by any means. Italian inspired maybe.

    • That’s a reasonable take. If you live in, say, Topeka Kansas where they think Italian food is bologna, the OG is all you might have. I’m just tired of the trend of restaurants in general
