Dry January and Veganuary seems to be a UK thing. I'd never heard of it, which probably means some groups are trying to make it a thing in Australia, and failing.
(Also I don't do New Year's resolutions. I do New Financial Year's resolutions.)
I have stuck to mine this year, it is to not buy a KFC.
Last year was to not knowingly listen to Radio 1 (that was piss easy).
Every year, I set my self a new resolution. I make them trivial, not painful, easy to stick to, allow certain caveats, fun and if I fail, it don't matter a toss.
Life is too full of important stuff to put self imposed limits on oneself.

I read an economics book, does that count?
