I remember those televisions - we had a black and white version. My siblings and I were the TV controls - Dad would tell us what channel he wanted, and we'd hop up and turn the dial. We had a party telephone line, too, from which my brothers derived a great deal of entertainment, but that's another story. :)
My Mom used to give us kids food-related projects, giving us lumps of dough so we could make our own little personal pizzas, which I remember were awesome. She let us stretch taffy once, too, but since my brothers and I literally spent almost all of our time running around in the woods and fields, our hands were usually pretty dirty - in fact it seemed to be a point of pride with us, so unless Mom stood over us, we never did a decent job of handwashing. For some reason, the grownups weren't very interested in sampling the gray taffy...
Even back then TVs were voice controlled, when my parents said a channel or volume level it would happen through the power of the child.🤣 Black and white was still more common than color TV. Did you ever use a magnet to mess with the TV...
Nothing can beat growing up in the country. :) I don't remember trying the magnet trick, but there was only one television in the house, so I'm pretty sure nobody would have dared to mess it up! :)
🙋♀️ Yep I totally remember those! I was the remote, and would watch the dot until it faded after turning it off. Does anyone else remember the dot? I too love the pizza in a box. We had it as recently as two years ago and yes I know it's cheap crappy pizza but I still love it. Not sure what it is about that pizza but its still a personal favorite 😋
I remember the dot, too, and waiting for the TV to warm up And when I was old enough to stay up to watch "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (on PBS, so of course it was educational!!), I remember the recording of the national anthem with the flag...
Oh no... But I think we could find a positive thing in it, that in these years you were/are able to make or order way better pizzas. That is improvement! 😂😅
I had no idea about the existance of such pizza kits! But you're right, some things should stay in the past - as great memories - because they'll never be that great again 😔

Yes I remember the dot! And how the screen continued to have a ever so slight glow after being turned off.
How about having to wait for the TV to warm up before you got a picture. 😀

You are 100% correct my friend! And I am truly grateful for it.

Consider yourself lucky my friend, they are truly awful.
I have to agree with you. I wish I would have stuck with the memory. 🙄
You didn’t miss much my friend
Nice memories, thanks for sharing. I used to eat my breakfast and so on while I was playing Super Mario on Pegasus console, happy childhood memories.
I used to like Super Mario, I am not positive I have heard of the Pegasus console. I am glad they were good memories.
