Plenty of those, mainly from my grandmother. I can think of a combo from green peppers, tomatoes, eggs and spices. I don't know how exactly she cooked them, but it was sort of a paste to spread it on a loaf of bread. My mother also can't remember. There are more I can think of, but the taste of this was insanely good and I'm kinda sad that it's lost.
This time of year I remember haying season at my grandparents gentlemen’s dairy farm in upstate NY. It took people power to pick up the rectangular hay bales in the fields and put them on the wagons and stack them. My grandmother, great aunt would cook up a feast every day of haying season to feed the help......and it was ALL farm to table..nothing like the $175.00 a person ones they have nowadays . We all had worked hard all day whether you were cooking or haying....we were tired dirty covered in hay scratches, sun burnt and happy. I can’t recreate that.
It looks good in it's own right - maybe you can't duplicate your grandmother's recipe, but you still have the happy memory. Your own version looks good enough to build up some new happy memories - that's something you can never get too much of.

I definitely understand that. I'm sorry that it is lost.
It's not completely lost if it's still in your memory... you can't eat memories, but they can still give you a reason to smile.

That is quite the memory and I bet that was quite the feast as well. Thanks for sharing
I love and am sorry to read this. I love the story and it looks good, but I am sorry it did not turn out for you.
Some things you cant replicate
That is 100% true
Do you have any food memories that you haven't been able to recreate? @tribe

Thanks Jeannine! I actually didn't care for this one nearly as much compared to my normal one.
