  • Good info. I had no idea. You learn something new every day, as my grandpa used to say and I just did. Thanks 😊

  • for Christmas, my wife used Snapfish to create nicely presented 'recipe books' for our daughter and 2 nieces. They were compiled using about 20-25 of my MIL's favorite recipes that were written on note cards and stored in the 15 or so note card boxes we found in her house. A narrative was formed through the circumstances behind her childhood favorites made while growing up on a dairy farm, through the early portions of her marriage where times were tight, up through more recent times when money was no issue and she put on many gatherings. The MIL has been gone 4 years as of yesterday. The recipe book is the best idea yet to commemorate her memory.

    • I love this what a great testimony. May the memories live on for generations.

  • we have boxes and piles of recipes from my husbands side, he refuses to throw them away, nostalgia i suppose, we would never make any of them, except maybe the cookie ones...

  • What a lovely piece, Doug! I feel so honored that you quoted me, it warmed my cold little heart. It was also the first thing I read today, so my Saturday is won. Thank you.

I’m also incredibly proud that FoodTribe has you as a creator. Your words are as nurturing as food.

Warm hugs and please keep writing! ❤️

  • Tis nice to ponder.

    Thanks for posing the question.

Perhaps recipes are misspelt receipts without a "t"
