Ach, I know. First time I've ever seen the ghastly wad on a meal in Australia. The rest of the post is lovely though, and next time you're in Aus, let me know and we'll go to a bakery in Braidwood or something, where it'll just be a damn glorious pie...
Commercially made pies are ok, but there are a lot of tiny bakeries, particularly in wine regions, like Barossa, Adelaide Hills, Yarra Yarra Valley, Margaret River, around Tasmania and the like. They are unbelievable. Everyone, come to Australia and check it out for yourself or as great music producer and critic, Ian "Molly" Meldrum, says, "Common, do yourself a favour"!

We had an Australian Bakery in Scottsdale sadly it didn't take off but the food was good and these dishes could be inspiring...
