Hey Aleksandar, thanks for the thoughts - you're referring to the paid promotions like Arla Skyr yoghurt I'm assuming. These are brands sponsoring a FoodTribe tribe or some dedicated content as part of a deal with us.
They are inevitable, they fund a free platform, and they're akin to the Sponsored content you see on Facebook. If you're interested, check them out (I mean, a recipe is a recipe, isn't it! The iconic Edmonds cookbook started as a simple book with recipes using Edmonds flour), if you're not, scroll on by - but we will make sure that sponsored content on the platform is clearly marked.

There are a lot of us regular people that just do food and not news.
If someone thinks a particular commercial product is good enough to share, I see nothing wrong with name dropping.
It’s paid promotion I am not a fan of... and when it is badly masked, I am even less of a fan... ;-)
I agree that paid promotions are annoying, but I haven't noticed any. Then again, ads are wasted on me because I don't really notice them. :)
Welcome to FoodTribe
Yes. But I remember it being more organic when it all started...
Are you talking about the pop up ads at the top of the page or actual posts?
Actual posts containing “surprisingly accurate and complete” product names. You know, like it is only missing that little TM in a circle ;-)
I recently posted about Martinelli's organic sparkling cider, but it was because I really liked it - Martinelli's certainly didn't send me a check. :)
