Whether you have to drag yourself out of bed in the morning, or whether you're super sprightly and ready to face the day as soon as you open your eyes, a smoothie is a great choice for breakfast. Banana, oat and date smoothie

This delicious smoothie will have you feeling full until lunchtime.

Ingredients

  • 4tbsp porridge oats
  • 2 bananas
  • 225g (8oz) Yeo Valley Natural Yogurt
  • 250ml (9floz) Yeo Valley Whole Milk
  • 3 pitted dates
  • 1tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place the porridge oats in a non stick pan and lightly toast until golden brown. Allow to cool.
  2. Place the rest of the ingredients in a blender, and whizz until smooth.
  3. Add half of the porridge oats and blend again.
  4. Pour the smoothie into glasses and sprinkle over the remaining oats to serve.

Avocado, spinach and pear smoothie

No, wait! Give it a go. Avocado is technically a fruit after all – and what it lacks in sweetness, it makes up for with a creamy texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado, skinned and stoned
  • 40g spinach leaves, washed and drained
  • 1 banana, out of the skin
  • 400ml Yeo Valley natural yogurt
  • 1 ripe pear

Instructions

  1. Put the avocado, spinach and banana into a blender with the yogurt and blend until smooth.
  2. Peel and slice the pear then add and blend bit by bit until the sweetness suits you.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Raspberry and peach smoothie

A sweet and creamy breakfast treat.

Ingredients

  • 400ml Yeo Valley natural yogurt
  • 1 handful of frozen raspberries
  • 1 handful of frozen peach pieces
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Splash of Yeo Valley Semi Skimmed Milk

Instructions

  1. Put a handful of frozen raspberries and peach pieces in a blender with the Yeo Valley natural yogurt, a splash of milk and a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  2. Begin blending and add more milk until you have a thickness you’re happy with.
  3. Serve in a glass to drink or add a little less milk to make a smoothie bowl, and top with granola and more fruit.

  • Smoothies are actually a great way of sneaking more fuel into your breakfast without you really realising. I know this, because if you have one after a bowl of Wheet-Bix, you end up inexplicably full.
