A Damn Good Breakfast!
It wasn't pretty, it's pretty unhealthy for me, but it was pretty damn good!
I work on a rotating schedule, which results in me working every other weekend. Usually, on the Sundays we work, my shift gets together for breakfast at a local Cracker Barrel. Unfortunately, during these unusual COVID-19 times, that tradition isn't something we can do as Cracker Barrel is open for dine-out only. Other options are few and far between, as most places have shuttered their dining rooms, and have cut back their open-for-business hours.
With the lack of choices for a Sunday breakfast, I began looking around for something to eat. I had totally forgotten about the new place in town that opened up recently; Martin's. Martin's is a local chain in Georgia, I believe mostly centered around the Atlanta metro areas. I had always wanted to try Martin's, but when times were good (pre-COVID-19) the drive-thru line always wrapped around the building, out of the parking lot, and down the street! But this past Sunday a coworker and I drove over and got in line pretty early at the drive-thru because we needed a good breakfast!
I ordered a fried pork tenderloin biscuit, smothered in sausage gravy. I have to say, it didn't look pretty. But it was really good! The fried pork tenderloin wasn't the most tender thing in the world, requiring some work to saw through with a plastic knife. But it had a great flavor! I think next time I would order this with a fried chicken filet instead. The gravy was very nice, very creamy. The cooked sausage bits in it gave it a hint of saltiness and they were a little crunchy, providing a nice texture. The biscuit was VERY good. Very fresh and buttery. I can't wait to eat at Martin's again!
