All the ciders: 3 great choices from my local German supermarket
Nothing is what it seems
In my quest to try out all the ciders I come across, I had bought quite a handful of different versions during a stop at a local Supermarket. I had already tried the Bembels that I had also picked out, and they were mostly meh.
But I still had three other Sorts to go through, and now I am ready to talk about them. And while none of them are currently able to reach my Gold Standard, they were all good in their own, very common Ways.
Some Cooper's.
Cooper's
At first, I had tried my Can of Cooper's Cider, which I just had assumed to be British by its Name. I could not have been more wrong though: The Cider was actually German. It was also the only true Apple Cider of the Bunch.
Despite being just a little deceptive about its Origin on the Front of the Can, Cooper's Cider was actually rather nice. I could really taste the Apples it was made from, and thatb is always a Plus.
For me, this Cider came prett close to what I like. But alas, it was also not Perfect. In the End, I have pretty high Standards though, and it did very good for me.
Some Bulmers Pear.
Bulmers Pear
The second Cider I had bought was Bulmers Pear. There were many Versions of the Brand available, but it would have been to Expensive to buy a Bottle each. I also prefer it to try out the Baseline before I spring for anything more Fancy.
It was actually very good for what it is. It had a nice Pear Flavour to it, what made the Cider nicely drinkeable. I actually liked this one a lot.
But it was also nothing Special. I had anticipated that, buying a Baseline Cider, but I was also a little disappointed by it.
Some Magners.
Magners Pear
While doing some Research on the CIders I had bought, I then found out that Bulmers and Magners are essentially the same in Northern Ireland. I still found that all a bit Confusing, especially since both Ciders tasted very alike.
In the End, I did slightly prefer the Magners Brand though, as it was a bit fresher and definitely more crisp. The Pear flavour was pretty much the same in both Ciders though, but maybe my previous Research had tricked my Brain a bit.
The three Ciders.
In the End, I preferred Cooper's Cider from this haul. It is not the best Cider I have ever tried, but I also really did like it.
Luckily, my Mission is not over as of yet. There are still more Ciders to be had. Like Strongbow. And maybe some more Scandinavians.
If you have any Ideas on Ciders I should try, let me know and I will see what I can do.

I'd still recommend Merziger Viez (the dry one, not the sweet) and/or Frau Rauscher by Possmann. Depending on where in Germany you live they might be a bit hard to come by but they're definitely worth trying.
Yes. So far I have not been able to find those. But maybe I will do once I have moved down south.
I'm enjoying your cider posts 👍. You need a holiday in South West England because it is full of local independent cider farms. A mainstream cider I like is Henry Weston's vintage cider, have you come across it? It's about 8%. Look out for it if you haven't, I'd love to know your thoughts.
Thanks!
Sadly, I have not come across that Cider as of yet. But I agree, a Holiday in South West England would be nice. Maybe next Year.
Not heard of Cooper's Tried the other 2. I like a nice scrumpy cider myself
I would love to try some of those one Day, but until then I am stuck with larger Productions. :/
I have my moments. I go through fazes. Going through a rum faze at the moment
I feel like I should pick up some cider tonight
I wish we had some of these here in the states
