American Icons: Do you love Hershey's candy bars?
I used to – and still kinda do
It is the year 2014. I am standing in a convenience store having the munchies. In front of me lie several candy bars. Back then, I chose Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme. I thought it was some kind of white chocolate, and I had a sudden urge for that.
In the end, I found out that it was not strictly that, because Hershey's had substituted a lot of the Cocoa Butter with other Vegetable Oils. While I lived in Canada, I consumed way too many of these Hershey Bars. I never had another sort, but I also much preferred Cadbury's Dairy Milk. But that is a different story.

After leaving Canada, I did not have Hershey Bars for a long time. I just was unable to find them anywhere I cared to look. A few, maybe three or four Years ago, my favourite and only tried Hershey Bar started showing up here in Germany.
The Bars were, and still are, a bit pricey for what they are at 99¢ a Pop, but I was still buying them every now and then. I also still do that. They just bring back some good Memories for me, just like Maple Syrup does when I do buy it every now and then.
Of Course they are still the same Junk Chocolate, but I do like them.

During my Time in Canada, Hershey Bars never were my Favourites, not even by a long shot. But what would Life be without some guilty Pleasures. I am sure everyone has those.
Lately, I have come to realize that much more American Icons are actually available to purchase than I had ever thought. I just have to look out for them a little more.
I also still have a few more Posts in the Pipeline, so stay tuned for that. It will also not be confined to Candy anymore. There are so many Drinks and other Foods as well. And I might even be able to cook some of them myself.

My guilty pleasure? I have sooo many 🤭 But I'll have to say Nutella. Anything with Nutella... Or Dulce de Leche Ice-cream!!!
So true! I have not had Nutella in a long Time, but I used to really love it. And Dulce de Leche sounds absolutely decadent! But also kinda intriguing.
Those are not too bad. I do like their special dark.

Hahaha yes I used to have these as a school kid with my lunch and later on grew out of them once I realize what fine chocolate was. We use these when we need to write a message on a cake and it doesn't fit on the cake, we write in icing on the Hershey's bar and put it on top 😄
Yes. Of Course something like a good Lindt etc. is much better. I do not see Hershey Bars, especially this one, as Chocolate though. It is Candy with a little bit of Cocoa Butter in it. 😬
When I ate chocolate I loved a Hershey bar with almonds. Even though they are not the best I am glad they are tied to good memories.
