For us Brits, a trip down the boozer usually involves a trip to a Wetherspoons of some sort. For our foreign readers, Wetherspoons is a chain of pubs in the UK which are known for their cheap prices and reasonably good food. Not to mention a safe haven for all students...there are over 900 Wetherspoons in the UK.

So, when foreigners come here, they are quite likely to stumble across one during their travels. This lucky lady did just that. The 'Tik Toker', Mal filmed her reaction to discovering a Wetherspoons and was taken back by the cheap prices and free refillable coffee. This is quite normal for us, but she was astonished, and so she should have been.

She opted for the vegetarian breakfast which is just £3.65 ($4.70) and a coffee which was less than £2 ($2.60), which is probably unheard of in the US right?

She also visited a Tesco where she discovered the magic that is a meal deal. This is where you can have a sandwich, snack and a drink for £3. Good isn't it.

What do you think of Wetherspoons?

  • Akso shocked at some of the prices when we visited this past summer, did not get video of it 🤣, but we treated ourselves much more than we planned on!

    • Also yes, cheap coffee, which was nice cause we had no coffee maker at our apthotel, and the instant stuff we found at lidl was atrocious :-p

  • Foreigners are endlessly amusing. But equally you wonder how we are perceived when we go abroad?

  • Wetherspoons is cheap. It's so cheap you have to question how they make it so cheap. Personally I've been boycotting them since 2016 along with much of the Remainer community, because Tim Martin is not just a raging Brexiteer but also a bit peculiar as well...
