An Italian reveals: Homemade pizza recipe
I'm back, Tribers! Do you want the original pizza recipe?
Hello Tribers! After a few weeks off, I came back to you. I missed you! To make up for it, I prepared the most classic of recipes: homemade pizza. Ready? Go!
500 gr of type 0 flour
25 grams of fresh brewer's yeast or 15 grams of dry yeast (but the former is much better!)
4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon of sugar
300 g of water approx
Activate the yeast in a glass with little tepid water together with the sugar for about 15 minutes.
Arrange the flour in a "fountain" (let's say it must look like a volcano), pour the yeast and oil in the centre, then start kneading with your hands.
Add the lukewarm water a little at a time and knead until an elastic and non-sticky dough is obtained, adding more flour if necessary. Add the salt too.
Arrange the dough in a large container, cut it crosswise and brush it with a little oil.
Cover with a cloth and let rise for about 2 hours, until the volume doubles.
This dough is good for 4 classic-sized round pizzas, but of course, you can divide the dough as you like.
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin or with floured hands. Arrange them in previously oiled trays and bake them at 230/250°.
Cooking times vary considerably from oven to oven and from seasoning to seasoning. Check the cooking frequently, making sure that it does not burn underneath.
As far as toppings are concerned, let's say that pizza leaves your imagination free. Pineapple? You are free to do as you wish! 😉
I prepared a Margherita (tomato and mozzarella), two small pizzas with mozzarella hearts, and a third one a little more seasoned. Let's see it!
This pizza has Gorgonzola cheese, smoked Scamorza cheese and cooked ham. It is delicious! If you want to do it, remember that the ham goes into the oven only halfway through cooking and not from the beginning. Buon appetito!
