Asda launches rainbow pizza to support NHS
Profits from the colourful creation will be donated to charities supporting frontline workers
It really is incredibly inspiring to see the enormous amount of initiatives that have been developed throughout the COVID-19 crisis in order to fully back those at the forefront of the battle against the disease.
After a great deal of stressful weeks at the beginning of the pandemic, it finally looks like tangible support – in the form of personal protective equipment, testing kits and hand sanitiser – is reaching the areas where it is so desperately needed.
Support for the selfless workers on the frontline has not abated either. In addition to amazing efforts being made by members of communities across the country – including a wealth of fundraising exercise activities – organisations continue to play their part too.
Indeed, Asda has taken a different spin on the standard donations and prioritisations that the majority of businesses have been offering key workers. Now, the supermarket chain has launched a rainbow pizza to galvanise efforts to keep the generosity of everyone going.
Profits made from sales of the pizza – which is inspired by the (probably) millions of rainbow drawings that are adorning houses in all parts of the UK – will be split equally between NHS Charities Together and The Care Workers’ Charity.
The pizza is a ten-inch vegetarian masterpiece filled with red and orange peppers, sweetcorn, spinach and red onion that all represent the appropriate colours of the rainbow. It’s also likely to be the healthiest pizza ever.
Available for £2.95, it can be expected that the multi-coloured magnificence provides pots of gold to two extremely worthy causes and benefit health and care workers nationwide.
