For a person residing in a city like Delhi which is known for its fast-moving life often people forget to cherish life & vacations to peaceful cities replenishes one internally. Keeping the same in mind I along with my family chose Rishikesh for a short trip.
Rishikesh is a holy city situated in the Himalayan foothills where the River Ganges descends from the Himalayas into plains. Apart from its mythological significance, the city is called as Yoga Capital of the world and is dotted with cafes serving lip-smacking continental cuisines for large no. of people visitn this city. Temples and ashrams (centers for spiritual task) line the Ganges around Swarg Ashram, a traffic-free, alcohol-free and vegetarian enclave upstream from Rishikesh town.
One such restaurant is 'A Tavola Con Te' an Italian restaurant situated behind Kriya Yog Ashram (Near Laxman Jhula Auto stand). The restaurant has garden seating, so one can enjoy his food under the open sky. A visit during the months of October - December after the Monsoons are over is recommended.
Pizza here is prepared by the chef-cum owner Mr.Ramesh Tiwari who is a very amicable person.
We ordered 2 different types of pizzas, one was Pugliese & other was the chef's recommendation named A Tavola Con Te.
Both the pizzas were delicious, though i loved Pugliese more and on my next visit to Rishikesh, I would again relish delicious food here.
Mr. Ramesh allowed me to enter in their kitchen to see the prepration of Pizza . I'll be posting the same in second part soon.
Here is the instagram account of the restaurant for more information.
