AWESOME New Jersey inspired breakfast sandwich!
I'm getting hungry thinking about it, and wanting another!
Typically, on Sundays, my wife and I do some kind of brunch at home. For some reason, I was hung up on wanting some kind of sandwich, and my wife suggested that we could make sandwiches from scrambled eggs. That got the gears turning and memories of the "Taylor Ham", egg and cheese sandwiches that I enjoyed on occasion growing up in New Jersey danced through my head. And I happened to have everything I needed to make an awesome New Jersey inspired sandwich in my kitchen!
Let's take a look at this.
My wife scrambled up some eggs while I toasted some bread and fried up some Taylor Ham (aka.: pork roll). Once my two slices of pork roll were done, I melted a slice of American cheese on top, and constructed my sandwich. Scrambled eggs went on one piece of toast, followed by my two slices of pork roll with cheese on top, and then this was capped with another piece of toast with mayonnaise spread on it.
Let's take a closer look.
Ohhhhhhhh my! This was a very good brunch sandwich, served deli-inspired with potato chips and a dill pickle spear. The sandwich had a nice crunchiness from the toast, and my wife's scrambled eggs are always good. The Taylor Ham has a really nice pork flavor with a touch of acidicness. Melty American cheese goes perfect with hot sandwiches and the mayo added a nice layer of tanginess to the flavors. I loved it!
No! I mean, let's get up and close with this! MMMMMMM DAMN! This was good food!
As I was eating this sandwich, I was actually thinking about quitting my job and starting up a food truck business up in Miami so I could share this awesome sandwich with people and live in some awesome weather. HAHAHA
