Who would have thought I could do three weeks in a row. I can barely remember to wash my socks let alone upload a weekly series for you guys. You should be very thrilled indeed. So, what facts do I have for you today?

Your wasabi is likely to be fake

If you think you like wasabi then the answer is, you probably don't actually know. You see, wasabi is actually an extremely expensive food to get a hold of. The real stuff costs £65 per pound of wasabi which is an incredibly high amount. This means that 99% of wasabi sold around the world is fake, unless you go to a really high end restaurant in Japan.

Processed cheese isn't actually America

America, I am sorry to break the news to you again America, but processed cheese was in fact invented in Switzerland back in 1911.

Honey will never go off

Yep, honey is likely to never go off. This is because it is low in moisture and very acidic meaning that the bacteria will die immediately. So, in theory honey could last forever, or at least longer than most other foods.

Brazilians eat weird pizza

I don’t know about you, but I find this most peculiar. Apparently, the most common pizza topping in Brazil is garden peas. I have had spinach on pizza and a soft egg on top but this just sounds very odd. I mean I would try Can you please confirm this Pat!

McDonald's sells 75 hamburgers each second

This is astonishing. Since coming to Uni, I can confirm that Maccies have a lot of returning customers but 75 hamburgers a second is crazy, and that's not even including everything else on the menu. That means they sell 4,500 a minute, 270,000 an hour and around 6 million a day. Or another way to look at it is that they have sold 90,000 hamburgers since I started writing this article. Truly fascinating stuff if you ask me. Oh, there's another 1,500...

Did you know any of these already?

If so, which ones? Let me know in the comments!

  • The most common pizza in Brazil is Frango com Catupiry, chicken with a soft brazilian cheese. We do have lots of different pizzas and dessert pizzas. My favourite is Corn with Catupiry, with Catupiry filled crust. I also like the Tropicália one, which has cheese, ham, onion, peaches, pineapple, figs, cherry, guava. For dessert, I like banana and cinnamon or Brigadeiro (soft brazilian chocolate).

We also have a bunch of all-you-can-eat pizzerias where you can eat a slice of each flavor as the waiters bring a variety of them to your table. It’s Rodízio like the Brazilian barbecue places, but with pizza.
