Hi Foodtribers,

Happy Advent Calendar season! Chocolate advent calendars are one of the cornerstones of the holiday season and they're enjoyed by many old and young.

When it comes to deciding which calendar to buy there can be so many options, so I compiled a list of the best you can get in 2021. These do range in price, so you'll get a good idea of what's out there.

No Whey Foods Chocolate Advent Calendar

This calendar is for those who want to celebrate the season but have dietary restrictions. This is Vegan, allergy friendly, dairy free, nut free, peanut free, soy free and gluten free. In this calendar you get 24 chocolate shapes so you can enjoy a different shape each day which makes it extra fun and the front is super cute. You can get this from The No Whey Foods website or Amazon. Either way it will run you $14.95.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent Calendar

Those who read my 2020 advent calendar post will recognize this one and honestly, I will forever put this on my advent calendar list because it's iconic and it's the Cadbury Dairy Milk Advent Calendar. Growing up in the states we didn't have these calendars so I have yet to try one but now that they're on Amazon I might have to get one. Cadbury chocolate is top tier chocolate and something everyone should get a chance to try. With this calendar you get 24 bite size pieces of Cadbury milk chocolate and an adorable scene of Santa with presents going down the chimney. This will run you $11.39 on Amazon for one but they also have 2 packs available for $19.94.

Hershey's Miniatures Candy Filled Advent Calendar

Something I did grow up with in the states and still eat occasionally is Hershey's chocolates and candies. And if you're a Hershey's fan, this is the calendar for you. This calendar features 24 doors filled with either a Hershey's Miniature - Milk Chocolate, Special Dark Chocolate, Krakel or Mr. Good - or a small bag of Hershey-ets which are candy coated milk chocolate pieces. The front of this calendar has an adorable Christmas village design and the back has a Christmas themed word search. You can get this on Amazon and it will run you $11.88.

Reese's Lovers Holiday Advent Calendar

Chocolate and peanut butter lovers, this one is for you. Every year Reese's has a great variety of Christmas candies, in fact in the candy bowl I keep on my bar cart, I currently have Reese's white chocolate trees. For the past couple years Reese's has been putting advent calendars and this year they've done it again. This year they have a 24 day calendar with a mix of miniature Peanut Butter Cups and Reese's Pieces. The front of the calendar features an orange background, orange trees that are Peanut Butter Cup shaped, adorned with Pieces, snow capped hills and a deer wearing a wreath. This was sold out on the Hershey's website and on Amazon I was only seeing 3 packs, but I did manage to find it at Target for $5.99.

Lindt Lindor Snowman Advent Calendar

One of the brands that we see a lot of, and is a personal favorite of mine, is Lindt/Lindor. Their chocolate truffles are truly magical and their 2021 advent calendar embodies that. This calendar features 24 days of mini milk, white and dark chocolate truffles. The front of the calendar harkens back to childhood with a winter woodsy scene and a snowman that looks Frosty-esque. You can get this on the Lindt website, it's normally $14.99 but it's currently on sale for $12.99.

Hotel Chocolat - The Advent Calendar - Dark

This one is for all the dark chocolate lovers out there, we definitely didn't forget about you. Sometimes it can difficult to find a calendar that's only dark chocolate but Hotel Chocolat has you covered. This calendar has 24 days of adorable molded Christmas figures. They use a minimum of 70% cocoa so you get that deep flavor and super smooth chocolate. They also use just the right amount of cocoa butter so it has a glorious melt and premium cocoa beans so you get the full, multi layered taste of the cocoa bean in your chocolate. And as an added bonus, this calendar is Vegan friendly. This calendar is one that opens like a book so you can set it out to display and honestly you might want to because it's very nice to look at with it's dark packaging and shiny snowflake in the middle. You can get this calendar on the Hotel Chocolat website and it will run you $24.95.

Now we move into the more expensive advent calendars. Buying luxury chocolate during the holidays is something we all do, so you might as well do it for an advent calendar.

Godiva Holiday Luxury Chocolate Advent Calendar

This calendar is filled with all the goodness that we know Godiva to be. Going beyond the milk, white and dark chocolates, this calendar is filled with 24 different flavors, fillings and shapes. The front of this calendar has the perfect mix of luxury and cozy Christmas vibes. It features a red and white snow globe with 'Godiva' written in gold. You open this one like a book and once you do you have the calendar on the right with a simple but elegant Christmas tree and presents. On the left it says, "The holidays are filled with many moments of wonder, joy and sparkle where anything magical can happen. Prepare to sparkle brighter and savor more of the magical moments that take place each year. Open yourself up to the possibilities of wonder and delight that are in store for you and your loved ones this holiday season." You can get this on the Godiva website and it will run you $39.95.

Sugarfina Santa's Workshop Advent Calendar

I know that this list is for chocolate advent calendars but I wanted to include one that was chocolate and then some and that's where the Sugarfina Santa's Workshop Advent Calendar comes in. This calendar has 24 doors that are little boxes and inside each box you will four pieces of whatever candy is in them. It includes some of their new holiday flavors like Holiday Presents, Merry Berries, Santa's Donuts, Clementine Bears and Petite Strawberries along with some of the best sellers Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels, Peach Bellini, Watermelon Slices, Birthday Cake Caramels, Heavenly Sours and more. This calendar looks like a workshop on the outside and when you open the doors you see the boxes in the middle that looks like envelopes along with elves and toys. You can get this calendar on the Sugarfina website, it's normally $60.00 but it's on sale for $50.00 right now.

COCO Chocolatier Advent Calendar

This calendar is where we start to move into calendars that are statement pieces as well as calendars and it's aptly named The Art of Chocolate Advent Calendar by COCO and the artwork is done by Francois Mangeol. You get 24 single origin mini bars that are sustainable and ethically sourced. You get 6 Colombian Dark 61%, 6 Colombian Milk 40%, 6 Isle of Skye Sea Salt Dark and 6 Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate for a total of 480g of chocolate. You can get this from the COCO Chocolatier website and it will run you £50.00 or $67.00.

The last calendar is very much statement pieces as well as calendars, but these are inspired by those who want to do something big for the kids because when you're a kid advent calendars are awesome. But also, if you don't want to spend a whole lot on an advent calendar for kids Amazon has a ton with all the fun themes, superheroes, Star Wars, all the things for under $15.00.

Fortnum and Mason Fortnum's Filled Wooden House Advent Calendar

F&M have quite a few different advent calendars this year, I only saw one other chocolate one but this one is the holy grail. This calendar is honestly gorgeous, it has a storefront on the bottom and a brick house on top adorned with snow, wreaths, candles, snowmen and shoppers. You will get sweet treats and delicacies alike and it features Fortnum's milk chocolate coins, foiled milk chocolate snowmen and Santa's, foiled milk chocolate balls and and natural fruit pectin jellies. You can get this calendar on the F&M website and it will run you £135.00 or $194.06. Yeah..I know but it is the holidays after all..
