Big Feastival 2021: Everything we ate and drank

Last weekend we headed down to Alex James' farm in the Cotswolds to eat and drink and boogie our way around The Big Feastival

The Big Feastival is a food and music festival that takes place every year on Alex James' (y'know, that guy from Blur) farm in the Cotswolds.

Although most festivals have food trucks, the Big Feastival goes several steps further, with workshops, cookery classes, demonstrations from big name chefs, experiences, pop-ups, bars, and way more of a foodie focus than your average gathering.

We headed down for the day on Saturday, and managed to work our way through quite the feast...

Anna Mae's Mac Not Crack – The Magic Mushroom

Mac n cheese with porcini mushrooms, truffle, parmesan and truffle.

Buddha Bowl – Enlightened eating: Massaman curry with extra halloumi, of course

Drink pitstop for a Malfy Gin cocktail

A Sunset Spritz and a Dolce Vita Spritz.

An intense setup at the Whittle & Flame/DJ BBQ stand

Afternoon snack: Greet Goat goat's milk ice cream

Loved these guys for years. Used to go regularly to their stall at Borough Market in London so it was great to see them in action at the Big Feastival. Flavour = vanilla and honeycomb.

Present to take home: Yorkshire Flapjacks for my other half

My other half loves Yorkshire, and flapjacks, so this seemed like the perfect present for him. I sneakily had the honey and nut one for breakfast the other day and it was ACE. So. Much. Honey.

Designated driver has to stay hydrated...

These new Nuisance drinks are a great alternative soft drink (or to mix with gin!) that aren't too sweet and offer something a little bit different. Just be careful not to inhale while drinking the chilli one as you'll be coughing for a while! We know this from experience...!

Would we even be Millennials if we didn't have an iced coffee while watching Easter Island Statues?

Dinner time! It had to be... gyoza

Rainbo edamame gyoza with sesame seeds, pickled ginger and a delish dipping sauce.

After-gyoza/pre Nile Rodgers snack: Oli Baba's halloumi fries

Topped with a yogurt sauce, mint, and pomegranate seeds.

Dancing the night (and the food) away to Nile Rodgers and Chic

We're in there somewhere, at the back, in a nice space, away from people...!

Phew. We're already looking forward to next year!
