Billionaire Shortbread Recipe
OK so I know it's millionaire shortbread but this recipe is too scrumptious to call it that!
I recently went to find out about how Droitwich Salt was made as it is local to my area and I found it quite fascinating that they were making salt again after nearly 100 years.
So, when I was there I bought this salted caramel and yesterday when I got bored I made this recipe with it. You can make your own caramel with butter, sugar and condensed milk but this jar made it easy.
Here is my recipe if you want to give it a try...
Heat the oven to 180 and grease a small baking tray with butter.
Mix 25g plain flour and 75g caster sugar then rub in 180g softened butter to resemble breadcrumbs as you would if you were making crumble.
Then knead the mixture together until it is a dough and press it into the base of the baking tray and prick it all over with a fork.
Bake for 20 mins until it is lightly browned. Let i cool in the tray then slather with salted caramel and melted chocolate. Put it in the fridge to chill then cut into small squares.
Enjoy the sugar rush!
Naughty but nice!
