This recipe came out of a Kroger flyer and I thought I would give it a try. It uses refrigerated cheese tortellini, romaine salad mix, bacon(of course), little tomatoes, chives and a sour cream-mayo mix along with a couple of other little things. This was pretty tasty but we found the tortellini to be just too much. You really couldn't get a bite of everything together just because the size of the tortellini. I guess I'll go back to the blt pasta salad I already make but I am glad I tried this one and if I find smaller tortellini I might try it again.

  • I recently added some brine from my gherkin jar to some mayo before tossing through a salad. Am keen to try adding a bit of sour cream too. Noms!

    • Why not? That's like adding vinegar and seasonings. This did have salt, pepper and a splash of apple cider vinegar.

    • That sounds pretty tasty! Sounds close to a chopped veggie salad I make...tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, Mediterranean feta, lemon juice or vinegar, a little sugar and greek seasoning blend.
