Bowmore and Aston Martin launch very, very exclusive whisky
Limited to just 25 bottles, with an RRP of £50,000...
If you own an Aston Martin, you like things pretty exclusive right? Now you can have your whisky even more exclusive than your car.
Beam Suntory has announced the launch of a new (very) limited-edition Black Bowmore bottling, in collaboration with Aston Martin.
Black Bowmore DB5 1964 is a 31 year old single malt Scotch, matured in a Williams & Humbert Walnut Brown Oloroso sherry butt.
The release of this whisky will be limited to just 25 bottles – we'd love to know who will be getting their hands on them, especially as each has an RRP of £50,000 (about $65,000)...
Why 1964?
The year 1964 was significant for both Bowmore and Aston Martin. For Bowmore, it saw the arrival of a new boiler, which saw the distillery enter the modern age – coal fires made way for steam to heat the stills. The first distillation from the new boiler produced the spirit that became the iconic Black Bowmore.
For Aston Martin, 1964 was the era of the DB5. The car was launched in 1963, and is widely regarded as being one of the most famous in the world (in part thanks to a certain secret agent).
The Black Bowmore DB5 1964
Over the years, Black Bowmore has become one of the rarest and most sought-after single malts. This latest release, in collaboration with Aston Martin, is only the sixth bottling ever. Since 1993, only 6,000 bottles have been made available.

Tell me more about the whisky
According to Bowmore's tasting notes, the aroma of the 31 year old single malt will have, "layers of exotic fruits and creme caramel" which will be followed by, "soft tobacco smoke, aromatic orange peel and rich black cherry".
The palate will feature, "intense flavours of mango, passion fruit and acacia honey interwoven with a powerful combination of coffee and tobacco smoke".
All that "exquisiteness" is presented in a handcrafted vessel made by Glasstorm, which is equal parts whisky and Aston Martin DB5. It takes a whole week to create the bottle: the top half showcases the single malt, and the bottom half features a genuine Aston Martin DB5 piston. Stunning right? But that's not all, it will come in its own carefully made suitcase.
If you need me, I'll be digging out all the pennies from my sofa to see if I've got enough to buy one...

Even Aston Martin owners can’t afford that
Maybe the million pound continuation series owners might buy them
I love Aston Martin and Bowmore also 50.000 seems perfectly reasonable to me 😂
In that case, get yourself a bottle😊😜
Oh I already have ! 😄
On my bucket list! :)

I'd better start saving...
I already am, not making much progress, but I am saving
