Picture the scene. It's your birthday. Lockdown is still a thing. Your friends have sent you cards and videos wishing you many happy returns. And then you remember that little parcel that arrived earlier. You open it up and inside is a biscuit and a note from your best buddy. You're touched by that something special, that added little bit of thought.

Honestly, adorable. Image; Biscuiteers Baking

Founded in 2007 by Harriet Hastings with her husband Stevie Congdon, with the mission to offer a more unique, stylish and personalised gifting solution. "We decided to launch collections of beautifully iced biscuits in fabulous packaging, a completely new way of gifting that would get people talking." The couple initially set about making prototype biscuits (I'm gutted to have not been on the testing panel) in Stevie's catering kitchens, but once the media got ahold of it, they took off and soon had orders pouring in by the hundreds and thousands. If you'll pardon the pun.

why send flowers when you can send Biscuiteers?

Harriet Hastings

With the idea that there is a biscuit for every occasion, they have spent the past 13 years testing that theory, and have in that time partnered with Selfridges, Harrods, Fortnum and Mason, and more as well as getting to do licensed designs from the wonderful world of Beatrix Potter, The Snowman, and the Mr Men series. They have also released two books and still produce 140,000 orders a year.

So if you're looking for a novel sweet treat to send to a friend or family member in these tough times, don't pick a bunch of flowers or a boring card, send them a snack. And be sure to check out all the other occasions that Biscuiteers has to offer, the options are boundless and you can personalise them for that added special touch.

  • How immensely quaint. Someone send me the classic cars box. I don't care if they're stale when they get here.

    • I really like the look of the classic car one too tbh. The only problem is, i don’t think I could bring myself to eat a DB4 even if it was made out of biscuit.
