Budweiser wants to build a factory powered entirely by hydrogen

*In South Wales

Budweiser Brewing Group, the UK branch of AB-InBev, wants bo uild the world's first hydrogen-powered brewery in South Wales and in order to do that, Budweiser has partnered up with Protium, a hydrogen company. The goal is to get it up and running by 2024.

Budweiser wants to reduce its carbon footprint, and that's why back in 2017, they placed a large pre-order for Tesla Semi Trucks. But this is quite interesting. Hydrogen power, as all we know, is powerful and tricky. It has huge potential but turning hydrogen, which as everybody knows is the most abundant element in the universe, into usable energy is complex and expensive. I'm just hoping this won't result into higher beer prices for consumers.

  • Ah South Wales, the area of the UK that consistently has the highest CO2 emissions for electrical generation.
