Burger King Finland uses McDonald's as takeaway hotspots
This week, Burger King Finland came up with a cheeky and clever idea, promising free delivery for all customers and all orders... if you set your pick up location at a McDonald's restaurant. Now, that's next-level trolling.
They've placed ads outside most McDonald's restaurants thus turning each of these locations into BK hotspots. According to Kaisa Kasila, Brand Manager of the company, this is because "nearly every district in Helsinki has a McDonald's restaurant but Burger King is not quite as common."
The company says they "feel for the whopper-less city dwellers" and in order to help them find a solution to this problem and provide them with tasty flame-grilled burgers, they've teamed up with Wolt, a food delivery and takeout app, to help Helsinkians get their Burger King fix outside McDonald's restaurants. This is basically just an experiment but, if it works out, Burger King might consider doing this on a permanent basis. That's bold.
