Burger Wars: Where does Wendy's rank?
Let's see what you all chose for me
FoodTribe I asked you to pick a burger from Wendy's for me to eat and review. By one vote, the Bacon Jalapeno cheeseburger won. I went with the triple because it seemed there was several of you who wanted to see me tackle a big burger, so this is for you all.
I must say it looks kind of close to the advertised picture. At least it does not look like it got stepped on. This actually looks pretty good.
Does it taste as good as it looks? The short answer is yes.
I want to say I ate this exactly how it came. First thing, I pulled a bit of the beef off to taste it, and it tasted like beef and not processed cardboard. The meat did have some flavor. The applewood bacon did taste like bacon, but not as crispy as I would have liked. The crispy fried onions were starting to soften, but still had a little crunch and tasted rather nice – maybe a bit salty. With three pieces of American cheese and a savory cheese sauce, there was no denying it had cheese. The bun was nice and soft as it should be. Those jalapeños tasted good and still had a little firmness to them, with enough heat to let you know it was a jalapeño. Now, the smoky jalapeño sauce was really nice and brought it all together.
Honestly Foodtribe, I have nothing bad to say about it. If you twisted my arm I would say the bacon needs to be a little crisper, though once I started eating I just did not care. I would buy this again without a thought. For a fast food burger it was very good.
Good job Wendy's, you have raised the bar with this one. And for those wanting to know if I finished it, well here is your answer. Absolutely!
I know this is only number two in the series, but it is at the top of the list. If you are curious about trying one of these – a triple, double or even a single – I recommend you giving it a day in court for yourself.
Have any of you tried this before? Are any of you now wanting to try it? Let me know in the comments. I pray you all are doing well. Always remember I love you all!
