Adding more gear to the Ford Ranger camp kitchen
Two more important pieces of gear have been added to the Ford Ranger Camp Kitchen!
I'm very excited as I've added two more pieces of equipment to the Ford Ranger Camp Kitchen, effectively allowing my set-up to be able to keep my stomach happy out in the bush. The beauty of these two pieces is how I can get use out of them outside of traveling and camping. In fact, I have both of these in use in my office at work!
Aicok Single Cup Coffee Maker
The first item I would like to discuss is my Aicok k-cup coffee maker that I scored off Amazon for around $40! This device is a single cup k-cup coffee maker that is compact enough that I will be able to pack it away into my chuck box. It runs off a regular 110 volt plug and can actually be powered by the outlet in the back seat of my 2019 Ford Ranger. It's currently being pressed into use in my office at work because our office Keurig coffee maker is on the fritz. It's allowing me to start my mornings with my favorite morning pick-me-up; Café Bustelo coffee despite the fancy Keurig being down. And when I hit the road, I'll still be able to get the good stuff even though I may be miles from civilization! All it takes is a cup of water poured in and three minutes to heat before it pushes the water through the k-cup. It's awesome!
It's pretty small, and it's easy to use!
I've got to have my morning cup!
One cup at a time!
Alpicool CF45-LG 48 Quart Fridge/Freezer
The next item is pretty neat to me; a portable fridge/freezer the size of a cooler! Purchased off Amazon from Alpicool for $319, this electric fridge/freezer will hold 48 quarts of food and beverage and maintain it safely at temperatures as low as -4°F (-15.6°C). It comes with both a power chord for in car, 12 volt use and with a 110 volt wall adapter for use with a conventional plug outlet. The Alpicool CF45-LG uses an LG sources compressor for reliability and low energy usage; important for when your out in the wild and have limited energy resources at your disposal. The Alpicool CF45-LG also features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing the fridge/freezer to be paired with a smartphone for temperature adjustments and monitoring. This past weekend I had it loaded with bottled water, sweet tea, an Italian hoagie, Caesar pasta salad, and potato chips as I set out in the Talladega National Forrest. The going was rough, but lunch was good! My lunch was maintained at the perfect cool level, and I had plenty of water on hand to last the long day of four-wheeling. Currently, the Alpicool CF45-LG is set up in my office and being use as a personal refrigerator to store my lunches during the work week!
Small, but cold!
Lunch and water!
Nice courtesy light for finding a midnight snack!
Adjust and monitor your temperature via this control panel...
...or the useful Bluetooth app!
Talladega National Forest
Speaking of Talladega National Forest; it was absolutely beautiful while the trail provided some technical obstacles that tested my 2019 Ford Ranger, my equipment, as well as myself. The juice was worth the squeeze, however, as the sights were beautiful and the challenge was fun!
Talladega National Forest, Alabama!
Just and easy, little drive.
Views for miles!
I love this truck, and the places it will take me!
