Can you guess America's favorite holiday cookies?
Stock up on only the finest for family and friends this year.
It is frankly amazing that anyone’s kitchen stove is still working. After a year of almost incessant baking, the average kitchen has seen 2,000 spoons simply dissolve from constant licking. Probably.
It’s also incredible that there’s even a need for anymore homemade treats: surely the world has served up enough banana bread to build new planets from? However, because Christmastime comes with an insatiable desire to consume anything and everything, a new poll has detailed the most popular cookies in America.
A mighty 2,000 adults were tasked with the unenviable challenge of having to decide their favorite cookies to dish out in the kitchen, proving that the survey was undertaken seriously and thoroughly. The highly important investigation (that was crucial to the very continuation of society) was commissioned by Bob’s Red Mill and carried out by specialist company OnePoll. I warn you that some of the results may cause outrage.
Correctly – and quite without controversy – the glorious position of being the country’s number one biscuit was gifted to the legendary chocolate chip, which sailed through with a dominating 40% of the vote. Perhaps it should have considered standing for president.
Second place was gobbled up by peanut butter, while standard sugar cookies finished up in third (the truly victorious position – honorable yet humble). However, it was a disappointing finish for gingerbread, which only managed to limp into fourth place. If I was allowed to vote, I would have made sure that plenty of bribes were given out to make gingerbread the winner.
In order of preference, the remaining crunchy options were: snickerdoodles, oatmeal raisin, shortbread, kiss cookies, snowball and thumbprint. As a cheeky extra for dessert, the opinion poll additionally concluded that the most popular pie to make is pumpkin, closely followed by apple.
So, whatever pressures this particularly stressful Christmas throws at us, at least we know that sugar is the key to keeping everyone happy.

I felt sure the Snickerdoodle would be in there some where, alot of Arizonanas make them and gift them to anyone. They are strange and I think taste of cinnamon sugar??
Can't beat a bit of cinnamon though 😍
I agree that snickerdoodles are way up there for me and the cookies that are called in my house like sand tarts they're really thin and have a walnut in the middle of them and crispy

I baked peanut butter blossoms today and my mom brought up this question. She thought the PB blossoms would be more popular than chocolate chip at Christmas, I thought so too. But 2nd works!
