Chocolate eggs are so last year. This Easter, it’s all about the Chausage
Heck releases limited-edition chocolate sausage for Easter – and it's already sold out
Bored of the same old chocolate egg you get every year for Easter? If you still want your chocolatey fix, just in a different shape, how about... a Chausage?
Heck, usually found making more traditional burgers and bangers, has embarked on a mission to please sweet-toothed sausage lovers everywhere this Easter, by releasing the Chausage.
The gourmet, gluten-free chocolate sausage is similar to the ‘choc salame’ you may have tried before in Europe. It’s a combination of gluten-free shortbread, Amaretti biscuits, butter, milk, sugar, sunflower seeds, apricots, glace cherries, raisins and cocoa powder, finished with a light dusting of icing sugar to give it the famous traditional salame finish of its meatier counterparts.
There were only 500 available, and they've already sold out!
Heck co-founder Jamie Keeble said, “We love the idea of the sweet salame that are so popular in chocolate shops across Europe. With the shelves awash with eggs at Easter, we thought we’d have some fun and give the Chausage a go and, if customers like it, it could pave the way for other sweet treats further down the line.”
Looks like there's certainly appetite for more chocolate sausages in everyone's lives.
How to eat your Chausage
If you’re feeling classy, slice the Chausage into rounds and enjoy with a coffee. Or if you want to be totally egg-stra this Easter, serve with a Creme Egg for a seriously decadent breakfast combo. Or just say ‘sod it’ to whatever diet you had planned, go the Whole Hogg (wayyyy) and serve with some crispy bacon on the side as well.

After numerous scandals, involving child labour, no chocolate of any kind for me, except "Fair Trade" one.
