Cocktails for dogs – and people – at London's 'After Bark' bar
Talk about a 'dog-friendly' bar
There’s a new ‘dog-friendly’ cocktail bar in London, called After Bark, and when I say ‘dog-friendly’, I mean they literally create cocktails for dogs.
Located in London's Hackney Wick area, After Bark was designed by Barkney Wick, a community centre in the area, as a bar where dogs and their owners can enjoy cocktails together, with alcoholic cocktails for humans and non-alcoholic ‘puptails’ for dogs such as ‘Bloodhound Mary’, ‘Barkarita’ and ‘Howlapaw Sling’.
As you’d expect, you can also order some snacks to go with your drinks, including the plant-based Lick & Mix, which can apparently be consumed by both humans and animals.
According to After Bark founder Jamie Swan, Puptails “basically consist of raw beets or raw carrots, and they don't have any preservatives. We have some lovely teas as well. So we have a Fish Island Iced Tea which is just for dogs. And that's got things like dandelions and burdock which is good for their guts and good for their overall health.”
