Quintessential German and quintessential me.

Ever since Vencolini posted his #CookYourself Challenge, I was thinking about what I should cook for that.

It needed to be quintessentially me, which meant it had to be simple and delicious. I am not a Fan of Foods with too many Ingredients.

A pretty Flammkuchen.

A pretty Flammkuchen.

Since I also like traditional Foods, I decided to make a nice Franco-German Flammkuchen.

That is pretty much a Pizza made with Crème Fraîche, Onions and Bacon Bits. It is very sim to make, and it is usually super delicious.

Usually, you would use a thin Bread Dough, but I had decided to use a simple store-bought Pizza Dough instead. It was just simpler and also much cheaper.

Delicious!

Delicious!

I also substituted the Crème Fraîche with Crème Légère because that Stuff has less Fat. Bacon brings enough of that to the Table.

Because the Bacon Bits I had bought were very salty, I also did not use any extra of that Stuff. The only Seasoning I used today was some freshly cracked Pepper.

So nice!

So nice!

In the End, I had created a nice simple Meal that anyone could cook. It was delicious and also quintessential me.

Flammkuchen was my go-to back in the Day after all.
