As FoodTribe's Official Jaffa Cake correspondent, (Editor: Jesse, please stop giving yourself bogus titles), it brings me great joy to announce the arrival of yet another flavour of Jaffa Cakes.

A limited-edition addition to the range of four flavours sees us mere mortals bequeathed a festive flavour from the God's at McVitie's: Orange and Cranberry.

GET IN MY BELLY! Along with some Port and perhaps a festive film. Die Hard would do.

GET IN MY BELLY! Along with some Port and perhaps a festive film. Die Hard would do.

The packaging looks all the right sorts of festive, dolled up like a wrapped present and adorned with sprays of holly and snow falling on the paper! *chefs kiss* This behemoth box will contain 20 original cakes and 20 of the orange and cranberry limited edition morsels of heaven. This forty pack will set you back the very respectable sum of £3.

But if you don't need 40 Jaffa cakes, and I should think you're lying if you say you don't, you can just buy a 10 pack of the Christmas cakes for £1.20, which makes the big box a brilliant bargain. There's no sign of a release date just yet, so keep your eyes peeled. And as usual, you can expect a taste testing video when they arrive!

This isn't the first seasonal special to come from McVitie's, as they have recently announced their forthcoming gingerbread, and Christmas pudding flavoured biscuits. It may still be August, but I think it's time to dust off the Michael Buble CD and get into the spirit of things.

    • I really don’t like the taste of Orange and Chocolate. Or any jam/ jelly with Chocolate.
