- It's spicy in my kitchen

Do you know your Thai spices?

So today I got a new spice order and I am making up a batch of Thai Northern Larb to send to the USA can you recognise them all?

You really can't see the big black bowl very well so I will start by saying that is long black pepper but do you know the rest?

Go ahead and give it a try.....

  • I see star anise I think, and I know I've seen that tree bark-like one somewhere before. Apart from that, no.

    Nice bowl set BTW.

    • Thanks the bowls are really handy for prepping. They are really cheap ones Wing Yip always stock them - every size known to man

  • The lighting in the picture is making it difficult to tell what some of them are...but I see cassia bark, coriander seeds, dried galangal, star anise, cloves and mace. I've never used any of those in larb though o.o and I really hope thats a bowl of MSG.

    • Close but there are a couple of spices specific to Northern Larb - Pro Horm and Maquem. I make this spice and sell it from my website so I ship it in from Chiangmai.
