    Does YouTube influence your cooking?

I just had to fix it after I seen it!

    Sam the Cooking Guy

I figure I might as well start with him since he has been some of my latest influences. I was inspired by his Kevin Bacon burger to give my own version. He used a ground wagyu while I went with a leaner ground round. After all I'm adding cooked bacon and onions to the burger mix so it is adding extra fat to it. This was a winning combination and I will definitely make it again, can't go wrong with bacon.

Then there is his Bacon Mac & Cheese Pizza! He shows you everything from the pizza dough to the homemade mac & cheese. I already have my own recipe for both, so I used his influence to put this combination together. Oh my food comma, carb overload! It was so good though. A nice bacon and breadcrumb topping for that little crispy crunchiness.

    Pressure Luck

Jeff helps to get you started with your Instant Pot and a good majority of his recipes are for the Instant Pot as well. He makes several good recipes, including Mac & Cheese. This is some good mac & cheese and I have not changed much from his recipe. This mac & cheese is highly requested in our house. It is definitely worth a try if you have an Instant Pot.

A couple of other dishes he does is a Butter Chicken Bowties and a Greek FETAccine both made in the Instant Pot as well. These are both packed full of flavor and I have made more than once. Those are definitely some dishes you might want to check out.

    Emmy Made in Japan

Emmy does a lot of product reviews of vintage items that she finds at second hand stores. Which some of those are so funny to watch. She has videos of eating bugs and her fruity fruits videos where she tries out different fruits from around the world. When she hears of unusual recipes she has to try them out. Which leads me to my recent food fail, Bacon Fat Caramels. I failed the recipe, it was not her fault. I will eventually try to make these again. Pretty much the recipe substitutes part of the butter for bacon grease and it does give the caramels a slight smoky taste.

These are just a few that I watch and I have either made some of their food or it influenced my own version. So how about you, is your cooking influenced by YouTube?

    • Yes and no. The only one I’ve really watched as far as cooking on YouTube is Sam the Cooking Guy and yes he has been an influence. Most other things I watch on YouTube haven’t been cooking related. I will say my biggest influence is FoodNetwork. I think if I really tried to discover more cooking shows on YouTube I would enjoy those as well.

      • We don't have any cable we only stream. That is probably why I do watch so many. These were just a few of the ones I watch.

    • No, but I like the recipe and the ideas...if I search on google and they suggest a YouTube video, I sometimes have a look, but it usually takes so long 😊
