Drinks company releases roast dinner flavoured ale and its divided the nation

Or how about Jam Roly Poly?

I am not one to discriminate when it comes to alcohol. I welcome all types of the stuff and will drink pretty much anything given to me. However, this isn't something which I thought I would ever see before.

Northern Monk brewery in the UK have just come out with a new ale which supposedly resembles the taste of a roast dinner. They haven't just added flavourings either as this beer was brewed with actual potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.

The company have teamed up with Aunt Bessie's to try and create the best roast dinner drink you can buy...not that they have much competition.

If a roast dinner isn't to your liking then maybe the Jam Roly Poly one would be? This jam and custard pale ale is brewed with plum, apricot, strawberry and custard, the same ingredients used in the Aunt Bessie’s product.

The Roast dinner one is 5.7% and the dessert one if you like, is 5%. This is quite an unusual product to make but I would certainly not turn down cracking a nice ice cold Roast Dinner brew with the lads.

Would you give this a go?

  • I’d try it. Maybe they will also make one that tastes of beer!
