Eamonn Holmes horrifies viewers with bizarre bacon cooking technique
It ain't right.
Eamonn Holmes, TV broadcaster and professional conspiracy touter, left viewers stunned on a recent edition of ITV's This Morning when he revealed his unusual approach to cooking bacon.
The dispute began following a segment from TV chef James Martin about Bank Holiday barbecuing. Eamonn remarked that he never thought so many vegetables could be cooked on the barbie, but his wife and co-host Ruth Langsford reacted with indignation:
"You microwaved bacon the other day!" she cried.
"And?" protested Eamonn.
"I came downstairs and thought 'What is this horrible smell?'. And did you see the fat splattering inside?"
"Ah! But I know how to do that now. You put a tissue over the top it," said Eamonn. "And it keeps it all down."
"It tastes fine!" he insisted.
As Ruth recoiled in disgust, the camera cut back to James Martin, filming from his house in Hampshire.
Unsurprisingly, the renowned chef was shaking his head in disgust, and gesturing that he would rather have his head cut off than appear on Holmes' show again. Or at least I think that's what that meant. Perhaps he was suggesting that Holmes should have his head cut off as punishment for commiting a culinary crime.
The people at home took Ruth and James' side, and took to social media to voice their disgust at Eamonn and his bacon.
"No no no @EamonnHolmes Bacon in a microwave wave is just wrong WRONG WRONG," said one.
"Oh @EamonnHolmes, you could never do anything wrong in my eyes, but bacon in the microwave? Seriously?!'
"Bacon in the microwave ugh, very rubbery?" suggested another.
This isn't the only way that Holmes likes to cook bacon. If he can't get access to a microwave, he likes to hold the rasher on the end of a fork and cook it over the heat of an arsoned 5G mast.
Would you ever cook bacon in the microwave? If so, do you also choose to cover it with a tissue?
