Easter eggs are already on sale in supermarkets around the UK...

Yes, you read that correctly!

We've barely entered 2021, but clearly, confectionary manufacturers and supermarkets are already looking ahead to the brighter days of spring, as some have already started stocking delicious chocolate easter eggs on their shelves... in January!

I'm all for prepping for the months ahead - especially with another nation-wide lockdown announced - but surely hoarding easter eggs already would be a step too far?

Admittedly, shops have to fill their festive aisles somehow, as removing all the Christmas-themed goods will leave a great big hole in their displays, but I'm not sure easter eggs are the right way to go.

Shoppers are starting to spot easter eggs in well-known chains such as CO-OP and Tesco, but many other retailers are getting in on the act. Clearly, not everyone is happy about the influx of seasonal chocolate, with one Twitter user branding it a "disgrace."

Not everyone is as upset though, with other Twitter users saying they were "not ashamed" to have bought some Mini Eggs already, with another saying they "wouldn't say no" if they saw a Creme Egg on sale in their local.

What do you think? Is it a case of 'early bird gets the worm' or are we just trying to jump forward in the year a little too early?
