Enough cheese sauce to sink a battle ship

Not to long ago my parents decided to abandoned me and go on a holiday to Italy. As an only child this leaves me having to do all household and garden chores. So, when it comes to cooking, sometimes, I really cannot be bothered. I work in trade services so after a long day of labouring, if I have to cook, I normally just have something quick and easy like a ready meal or something that I can just stick in the oven or pan.

However, one afternoon when my working day was cut short due to heavy rain (I was a gardener at the time), and I decided that I would cook myself a nice meal to celebrate the end of the working week. Fish with new potatoes and fresh vegetables was the chosen dish.

When I got home, I decided that I would garnish the meal with a homemade cheese sauce, so online I went, a man on mission to find a cheese sauce recipe. luckily, I found an easy one (my cooking skills aren’t that great) however, what I failed to do was properly read the recipe, which I discovered after I’d made the cheese sauce, is actually quite important.

I followed the cheese sauce recipe very strictly and the cheese sauce turned out lovely, however I didn’t read the part of the recipe that tells you how many people the cheese sauce feeds.

You know how the lord Jesus fed 5,000 people with fives loaves of bread and two fishes…well I could have fed the 5,000 8 times over with the amount of cheese sauce I had. I filled the largest saucepan I own with cheese sauce; I had some much I didn’t know what to do.

I spoiled the meal because I had to try and eat as much of the cheese sauce as possible. The fish looked like it was trying to swim again because of the amount of cheese sauce on my plate.

I’m hoping to move out in the next year or so and if I’m going to survive, I better learn how to follow a recipe properly otherwise I’m going to end up either starving or wasting all my food and being broke.
