Feeding 5 for under $15 (Meal 5)
Okay so it's not the most creative recipe, but my family wolfed it down.
I have posted fried ham before, there's really nothing to it. Put some butter in a frying pan and find a recipe for some type of glaze using whatever you have in your cabinet. As you're frying your ham brush it with your glaze. Just add a couple of sides and there ya go, easy dinner served. I chose asparagus because it is all 3 of my kids favorite vegetable and I usually do some kind of cheese noodle, however I mistakenly made rice instead. (The packaging looks the same). Everyone had 2 servings and there was enough leftovers of everything except for asparagus for it to be taken as work lunch tomorrow.
My glaze: 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. (I did not include these ingredients in my shopping cart because they are staples in my house). There are a lot of different glaze variations online that will work with fried ham, so no need to buy extra ingredients and go over your budget, just put something together with what you have on hand.
This took about 15 minutes to make and came to $14.92. It reheats well, so you can get another meal out of it which of course is a nice bonus.
