First lunch out after the lockdown
In a nice reastaurant in Arona on Lake Maggiore
The lockdown in Italy has been over for a few weeks, and we are trying to make it work.
Last Sunday, my boyfriend and I went out for the first time to eat after the epidemic broke out.
We could have gone out earlier, but the Coronavirus scared everyone, and we are all very cautious.
We have been to Arona on Lake Maggiore. It is a beautiful town, with a long walkway on the shores of the lake and many restaurants where you can eat.
We chose the Ristorante del Barcaiolo, and it didn't go badly at all.
In compliance with the anti-Covid-19 standards, the menu could be consulted online via a QR code, not very practical but undoubtedly hygienic.
This is an appetizer consisting of local meats and cheeses and homemade pickled vegetables. Everything is accompanied by sauces, jams, and various condiments such as caramelized chestnuts. Fantastic!
And this instead is Heaven on earth. Paccheri with tomato, basil and fried eggplant cream. Honest: it was moving.
Mixed fried fish and battered vegetables. Yummy and light. The fish was mixed sea and lake, the lake fish was full of thorns, but it's normal. Very good indeed!
And that's all, nothing sweet because we were full. It was a beautiful day. Good food, nice place and a lot of people around wearing a mask. After all, maybe it can work...
