Due to the current global situation, many of us are looking to strengthen our immune system, and this can be done only by having a proper diet and by taking a few measures. If you want to know by what type of food you can boost your immune system, well then read ahead.

It is said by consuming the citrus fruits like grapefruits, oranges, lemons, etc can boost your immunity. All these immunity booster food items contain vitamin C which increases the production of White Blood Cells (an essential component of the body to fight infections) and provides enormous support to the body. Other fruits and vegetables which contain Vitamin C and also helps in boosting the immunity are watermelon, papaya, broccoli, capsicum, etc.

Also, spices like garlic, ginger, turmeric, sunflower seeds, etc are considered as the essential spices which help in boosting our immunity. Garlic and ginger have antibacterial, anti fungal, and antiviral properties which reduces the risk of COVID -19 and other flu.

Turmeric milk (Haldi ka doodh) also known as golden milk has many antibacterial, antiviral, and anti fungal properties. Even the doctors in India advise a patient to drink turmeric milk to recover from any type of disease and also for a muscle problem.

Green tea, which is said to be an alternative option to the Coffee and Black tea has a low amount of caffeine and also helps in boosting immunity. It contains flavonoid and L-theanine, a type of oxidant which may prevent your immune system from any foreign body.

Chicken and shellfish have a common item in them B-6 which plays a vital role in releasing Red Blood Cells and White Blood Cells and ultimately which helps your body to fight with the diseases.

Also, many species of mushrooms like reishi, shitake, and turkey tails make your body resistant to viruses and infections. Mushrooms also enhances the taste of your food.

Apart from consuming these, the most important thing is to wash our hands regularly and remain at home and stay safe.
