Ingredients
- 150gms 2*Steak piece of your choice
- 300gms Baby Potatoes
- 300gms Green Peas (frozen or fresh)
- 2 strings Spring Onion
- Corn flour (water starch)
- Soy Sauce and Vinegar
- 2tbsp Butter
- 2tbsp Cooking Cream (optional)
- Seasoning (salt, black pepper, chili flakes, lemon juice, dry herbs of your choice and coriander/cilantro)
- 150gms 2*Steak piece of your choice
Instructions
- Steak: Marinate the steak with salt, black pepper, dry herbs of your choice, dash of lemon juice and oil and keep for about 20 minutes. You can grill the steak as you normally do. I grilled mine with the griller for 5 minutes on each side.
- Mashed Peas: In a sauce pan heat 2tbsp butter, add the thawed peas (if frozen) or fresh peas directly in to the butter mix well and add about 1cup water to soften and cook the peas. Add salt, cooking cream and chopped coriander/cilantro. Once ready make a mushy paste using a blender or hand grinder or back of the spatula until as per your desired consistency.
- Honey Pepper Potatoes: In a sauce pan add 2tbsp oil, minced garlic, chopped spring onions, cook until soft and fragrant. Add baby potatoes with the skin. Add 2tbsp soy sauce, 1tbsp vinegar, 2tbsp back pepper,1tbsp honey,1tbsp chili flakes and a pinch of salt. Mix well. Add 2 cups water and cook the potatoes until soft. To the end add cornstarch (1 teaspoon corn flour mixed with 2tbsp water). Make sure you have a nice thick sauce.
- Garnish with white sesame seeds, optional.
Recipe Notes
Serve the steak, peas and potatoes together with lost of green Salad on the side.

Good lord, you can even make mushy peas look beautiful!
Haha...yeah I was surprised to see the ne trend too..so wanted to try it out..but anytime mash potatoes over mushy peas.
Amazing 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😉
Looks good! I won't pretend I love mushy peas - after I discovered the British ruin their fish and chips with a wad of them - but the presentation is epic.
Thank you, my family preferred mashed potatoes though, But I agree that mushy peas are not that bad too. Glad you liked the presentation John.
Sounds very delicious!
Nice...though I know, mushy peas wouldn't go down well for a lot
Glad you did like it. Thank you
Looks good. Not for me though as I don't like mushy peas
Agreed Dareen!! My husband preferred mashed potatoes over mushy peas.
Yeah I prefer mash too. I find putting wholegrain mustard in my mash works well with steak, pork and lamb
