This is my father in-law's favorite local craft beer that he's tried so far. I bought him a pack of these after he helped me fix my golf cart, but I traded him a can of Golden Boy so I could try it. He had been ranting and raving about it, so I was curious to see what he was talking about. He sampled it in a local grocery store, of all places, and immediately fell in love. They gave him this glass too!
Not going to lie, I was skeptical that I wouldn't be able to actually enjoy drinking a beer with 9.2% alcohol content, but I was surprised by how drinkable this beer actually was. Each sip punched you right in the mouth, but finished smooth with little to no aftertaste whatsoever. It's an ale, not an IPA, so this beer wasn't bitter even though it is indeed a heavy duty beer. I felt like I had drank two after finishing just the one can I had in my fridge.
If you ever find yourself in the Raleigh area, I highly recommend you seek this one out. Look for the tan cans sold in a pack of four. Fortnight's Vintage Ale took home the silver metal in the 2017 US Beer Open Championships for a reason.
