Four things you should never put on pasta
We can do without just four things, right?
We can season pasta with lots of ingredients: tomato, eggs, tuna, and many more. But there are things that really, really don't go well.
Ketchup
I have heard many urban legends about this. I don't know if they are true or not, but I prefer not to risk it and to say it clearly: ketchup does not go on pasta. Never. For any reason.
Mayonnaise
I don't know why anyone would do it. Mayonnaise goes perfectly with many things, but let me say this loud and clear: mayonnaise is not good on pasta. It's different for rice, though – in rice salad, it is perfect.
Chicken
Here I am sure. I know you do it: I have seen the photos. But chicken pasta does not exist. All right, some people have tried to make it a real recipe, but let's be honest – who needs chicken pasta?
Cutlets and assorted things
Pasta is not a side dish. It does not serve as a base to accompany a mixture of vegetables, or to garnish a stew. Pasta is the protagonist, the absolute sovereign. Pasta is the Queen.

I don't know much about Italian Americans. I guess they have adapted Italian cuisine to requests, a bit like what happens here in Italy with Chinese cuisine 😊
I think all of our food is adaptations of ancestral background. Lol. Chinese / Italian blend sounds like interesting fusion

Here in 'Murica we have Chicken Parmesan on a bed of pasta. I believe it's not traditionally served with pasta in Italy? I've had it both ways depending on the restaurant!
