French designer Balmain and Chivas XV join forces for a limited-edition Scotch
And it’s not as expensive as you think
You may be familiar with Balmain, a French luxury fashion house founded in Paris in the 1940s, mostly because it is ubiquitous on social media these days. Anyway, Balmain teamed up with Chivas Regal for an exclusive ‘drop’ of Scotch Whisky and it looks promising.
Chivas was founded in 1786 in Scotland but the brand is currently owned by Pernod Ricard, the world’s seventh largest wine and spirits seller and, just like Balmain, the company is based in Paris. This explains the French connection of this boozy deal.
The limited-edition ’Balmain x Chivas XV’ prioritises style *and* substance, and it is a little bit less expensive than you think. The collection consists of two Balmain-branded bottles of 15-year-old blended Scotch. The bottles are super stylish and they’ve been designed, well, by Balmain.
The collection is already available. The First Drop comes in an individually numbered gold bottle, adorned with metallic armour and chains - a tribute to Balmain’s signature runway pieces. The Second Drop also features a silhouette of symmetrical chains and belts directly inspired by Balmain’s recent collections.
Balmain and Chivas also said they’ll open a pop-up bars worldwide and at select Fashion Weeks. Keep an eye on Balmain’s/Chivas’ website to find out more because they actually haven’t said when and where.
The First Drop retails for €175 (£160/$217), while the Second Drop retails for €84 (£70/$104).
