Freshly is now delivering prepared lunches for the WFH crowd
Freshly for Business launched this week
If you were lucky enough to have catered lunches at your work, you might be missing out on your lunches now that everyone (who can) is working from home.
A new service might be able to help. The meal delivery service Freshly has just launched Freshly for Business. Companies can make an account with Freshly and then their employees can order prepared lunches for home delivery. Meals arrive at your door cold so you just need to pop them in the microwave and serve up. Easy lunch al desko!
“We’ve always seen the opportunity with businesses to be massive,” Freshly Founder and CEO, Michael Wystrach, told The Spoon. He said Freshly for Business had been on the product roadmap for a while but there was “so much demand with companies trying to solve the COVID challenge. So we accelerated the plans.”
The new service is available to companies of any size. Meals can be fully or partly subsidized by the company to match varying budgets. Freshly ships to the lower 48 states.
According to The Spoon, Freshly has seen a sharp rise in the number of older people using their consumer delivery service since the outbreak began.
“We’ve really seen older generations make aggressive moves to the platform,” Wystrach said. People over 60 years old used to make up 25 to 35 percent of Freshly’s client base; since the COVID-19 pandemic, the over 60 group now accounts for more than 50 percent.
The Spoon reports that New York-based corporate catering service Ox Verte also recently pivoted to home office meal delivery.
