Game of Thrones whisky is here and it looks awesome
No Ygrittes. Whisky is coming.
Arya kidding me? We thought the Game of Thrones collabs were done, but no.
Johnnie Walker and HBO have continued to unite their houses with the launch of two new whiskies: A Song of Ice and A Song of Fire.
The two new tipples are inspired by House Stark of Winterfell and House Targaryen of Westeros.
It Varys between the two. A Song of Ice is 40.2% abv with a ‘crisp and clean taste’. It’s recommended to be served… over ice.
A Song of Fire however is 40.8% abv and is apparently rich, spicy and smoky. It’s recommended to be served as a highball with cold ginger beer.
Both the bottles feature striking Game of Thrones images: the direwolf and the dragon.
If you put the two bottles together, Johnnie Walker’s iconic Striding Man is backwards on the Song of Fire, so they ‘face off’ when paired up. Ooh. You'll just have to get both...
The partnership launched last year with The White Walker whisky.
Pour us a Littlefinger or two...
Jeff Peters, vice president of licensing and retail at HBO says, “We were very proud to partner with Johnnie Walker again to bring more whiskies to the realm. The Game of Thrones audience continues to both engage with the culture fostered around the series and look for the special collectibles that let it live on.
"After seeing the excitement there was for White Walker by Johnnie Walker, we are thrilled to celebrate the end of an epic tale by offering more quality whisky for fans of the show and whisky enthusiasts to collect and enjoy.”
