Good Grubs: Grabbing a nice burger from a food truck
Sometimes, I like stuff from food trucks.
Over the weekend, I found some bus tickets in my desk. Earlier, I had looked up when the Burger Truck I would visit has its stop in Clausthal - normally it's Mondays.
SInce today is Monday, I decided to use those bus tickets to get myself a spontaneous Truck burger. And some fries as a side, of course.
The fries were cut straight from unpeeled potatoes, and they were absolutely delicious. There was enough salt, but not too much, and they were perfectly crispy.
As a German, I naturally had them with mayo and ketchup, or as we call it, 'Pommes Schranke'. The sauces came in extra cuppies, and I like that better than having sauce soaked potato sticks.
As for the burger, I went with a simple bacon cheeseburger. I did not have much choice anyhow, but it was really good. I also went with pretty much all listed ingredients , except for tomatoes - they have no business on any burger I would eat.
The patty was freshly grilled in front of my eyes, and it was so tasty. It might not look like it, but it was also adequately juicy.
The only gripe I had was that the pickles were cut very thick in my opinion. But we don't need to argue that pickles belong on a burger; they add a nice flavour profile.
Today, the Food Truck was well visited, in contrast to last week when no one was around. Back then, I had visited in the afternoon though and only noticed them on my way into the supermarket. Since I had not had any cash with me then, I knew that I had to return.
I definitely do not regret using up some old bus tickets to get a nice burger. I would definitely do that again.
So... what do you think about Food Trucks? Are you a burger lover? Let me know in the comments.
