Good news! Nando's vegan perinaise is happening for Veganuary
And if you're partial to your usual PERinaise, worry not, it's still available.
South African restaurant chain Nando's is launching a vegan version of their PERinaise, basically vegan mayo, a slightly spiced creamy sauce now available at every Nando’s restaurants and in Tesco supermarkets.
Nando's was founded in South Africa in 1987 and it has become fantastically popular in the UK in recent years. They specialize in Peri Peri chicken with malagueta pepper, a traditional Portugese dish which originated in Mozambique.
Even though Peri peri chicken is definitely the restaurant chain's flagship dish, Nando's has been offering vegan choices for a while now, for example the Supergreen Burger and the Butternut Burger, and vegan PERinaise is the perfect addition to the line-up. The vegan PERinaise is made with rapeseed oil, vinegar, sugar, cornflour, salt, red chilli pepper, African Bird’s Eye Chilli, paprika, white pepper, black pepper, green chillies and garlic puree.
You can order it at any Nando's location, and it costs 60p, or you can buy it off the shelf from Tesco and it's £1.90.
